i got a comment on my myspace page from my friend VValter about eating from your garden and it inspired me to share and inquire.

Most of our trees are edible or medicinal. i think we have pear, plum, fig & eucalyptus.

We have fuscia roses blooming up a storm on both our side fences. Did you know that you can eat them. They are sometimes rolled in sugar and used for wedding cakes.

we now have a plethora of tomato plants & some squash, Thanks to Stanley who dumped them on me last weekend. Maybe even a few different varieties. I can't wait to get them in the ground or find them some bigger pots. You just can't get a homegrown tomato at the grocery store.

Stanley and I are both having problems with our strawberry plants. Once planted in their strawberry pots most of them died except one. what should we do to make them happier????

there is onions, but am not sure when to harvest them. I'll look it up one day................

we have some garlic and many herbs. I like herbs! Not only do they add lots of flavor or smell to something but they are filled with vitamins.

have enough tyme to share. its a monster and it's pouring out of the bed onto the sidewalk. if no one speaks up, i'll probably harvest it. how do you harvest tiny little tyme leaves? hmm, is there an easy way?

i'm sure there is more, but i want to know what you have going on?

I'm adding cucumbers, bell peppers, lavendar, citronella plant (lemon scented geraniums) and another strawberry! Wish us luck! We would love to have a plethora of salad stuff. The stuff we've been getting at the store goes bad too quickly and is exspensive.

I am pulling out my tomatoes after a horrible year, the Leaffooted bug
Scientific Name: Leptoglossus phyllopus won.

I went from organic to pesticide, and it didn't stop them.

I am going to the nuseries to see what crops to put in now.
Besides greens, (which I always have too many of.

At least I had a huge pepper and eggplant year.

BASTARDS!

I harvested over 50 pounds of tomatoes this year.
I made lots of sauce!
salsa, sandwiches,
etc.
I had a problem again with stink bugs, but I pulled most of the fruirt in and let it ripen inside, that saved a lot of it. and it still tasted great because I cut them with the stems to ripen.
