I am a person who believes that buying used products will extend the life of our enviroment as we know it. By not needlessly consuming all new products wrapped in all new plastic we relieve some of the demand on our petroleum supply. It's inadvertant but it is all linked together in the big picture. And I do buy new if I can't find vintage in good condition that I like better. But they just don't make stuff like they used too. The extended life of most products these days is nill!
Today I went to a church thrift store that is located downtown. I think it may have special days and hours that it is open but I didn't get the name or the street that it's on.
This has sparked my curiousity. I wonder what it's called and what else have a missed?
The Super Thrift on 9th ave. is gaining stock rapidly.
Over behind the "W" street flea market there is a mission called Heavenly Blessings. Most often I don't find much there but I always check I have found a few cool things and I admire their will to selflessly help people. I also donate a lot of stuff to them. They give it away to people who really need it. (WITHOUT CHARGE)
I also like the one on gulf beach hwy???? _________________ as usual lost in a wonderland of dreams.

The one downtown is First Presbyterian Thrift, only open on Thursdays.
Chase St. / Jefferson Old white building off the road. Next to 1st Pres. child care center.
Here are some of my other favorites; That I hit on a regular basis ?
All these stores are open Mon ? Friday, and some on Saturdays.
Loaves And Fishes ? Palafox 1.5 blocks north of Blount. Clothes books, nic nacs, electronics, hardware. some video/cd/vinyl
Second Blessings - Davis joust north of Lee St. clothes, kitchen, vinyl/books The guy that runs it, Curtis, is very nice.
GoodWill Brent Lane ?Palafox next to Big Lots clothes, clothes, & clothes, some books & nic nac.
St. Pauls ? 9th & Fairfield same as the rest but smaller quantities. next to the Pizza Hut Delivery
WaterFront Rescue (probably the largest thrift store in Pensacola, Everything! Fairfield Dr/Q St.
Habitat House Thrift (building supplies, hardware mostly) Palafox St. /VanPelt. (south of Airport Blvd.)
GoodWill Fairfield Dr/Lillian ? near The Grocery Outlet. Usual stuff, lot of books.
Caring Hearts a lot of everything! some new stuff in household/tool section. not too many clothes 49th/Lillian
Unk Named store Chiefs Way/New Warrington Rd. next to Rent A Center, across the parking lot from Subway. usual stuff, not a lot of turn over though.
Unk name store Pace Blvd/Jordan just getting started - a lot of junk.
And there is a really weird store on P st about Lloyd in a big warehouse, lots of wore out stuff from hardware to glassware. All very very cheap. I mean 25 cents to a dollar! and they give away free bread and some grocerys. run by a church. take a flashlight, fan, water bottle and hand washing stuff to go through here!
St Paul - P St. /Desoto St. weird dirty stuff!
There is a site that rates these stores and has address and times etc. They are on MySpace but I can?t look up the name here. _________________ You can tell by my signature that I am here |

but you can still get some retro stuff from Polly
she moved to a section of Blue Moon on Navy Blvd.
at least that what the sign says.
I still haven't been to a thrift store, going on 6 weeks now.
I am in control!
or else when I do go back, I'll have to play catch up! _________________ You can tell by my signature that I am here |
